Well this is great: I’m beginning a new trio gig at Hillstone Restaurant (formerly ‘Houstons’) Sunday and Monday evenings from 6-9 p.m.

This will be a great chance to play again with my good pal Pat Klobas, the acoustic bassist with whom I worked with steadily in the Redwood Room (1994-2000) and the Marriott Hotel (1989-1994) , and amazing drummer David Rokeach. We start Sunday, January 9, 2011.

I have been re-hired as house pianist at the Four Seasons Hotel (757 Market Street in San Francisco, between 3rd and 4th Street). My new hours are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. till 10:00 p.m. and Fridays from 5:30 p.m. till 11:00 p.m.

I performed here from 2001 till April of 2009, and now I’m back. Please come in, listen, have a cocktail, and make some requests.

For the time being, I am not available for private events on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings. However, please feel free to call me for events, weddings or parties at any time in the week. I will also be happy to refer you to some excellent pianists if I am not available.

I was happy to be busy working and playing piano for a stretch of fun December parties. Two different couples got married on Mondays! Yea. I would love it if this became a new trend. Also, I played at a fortieth birthday party, a sixtieth birthday party, and a rockin’ holiday party for an SF design company. The month started off with a holiday party for a nice group of anesthesiologists (and yes, I did play “I wanna be sedated” by the Ramones). Also worth noting, was how much fun it was to return to the Four Seasons on Thanksgiving and Christmas. It felt ‘just like old times’. On New Years eve, I played a marathon eight hours in a row. First I played the solo piano shift from 5 – 9 p.m., then continued with my five-piece band until one a.m. A great way to finish off 2009 and start 2010. My band featured the wonderful Anna Kristina on vocals, with my old pal Dave Weeks on guitar and vocals, Scott Thompson on bass, and a great drummer I had never worked with before: Bill Norwood. The band was so much fun. I think this year’s New Years party went as well as any I can remember. This time I was able to relax and have some fun, because Anna and Dave were so helpful in running it.

Greetings! This is my first blog post. First of all, I want to thank the amazing of team that helped me get this web site launched. Peter Spannagle, of YourCustomBlog.com first sold me on the idea of using WordPress to construct my new web site. He was responsible for putting it together, and I am very happy I found him. My dear friend Annie Guyon, of Annie Guyon Communications provided me with valuable advice, editing and feedback about the design and content of my site. Lastly, Andrew Steagall of IncusWeb was recommended by my nephew Zeke Koch. Andrew gave me excellent SEO advice. I heartily recommend their services, and wish to thank all three of them for their efforts and talents.
